Community Initiatives
Cybelle is pleased to support new and upcoming fashion designers, makers and artisans, especially students. When commissioning and selecting products for our stores, we look to emerging designers and makers first.
Cybelle is also proud to have been involved in several community initiatives.
In 2004, 2005 and 2006, Cybelle co-sponsored the annual art exhibition held by Headway’s Adult Development Program, in conjunction with 5 inner western Sydney hospitals, during Brain Injury Awareness week. In 2005 we received a Certificate of Appreciation from Headway in recognition of our contributions to the Program.
2004: Cybelle sponsored an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) client for her first solo art exhibition, held at the TAP Gallery, Darlinghurst, NSW.
2005: Cybelle co-sponsored the publication of the collaborative cross-genre book, Open 24 Hours, a community-support project prepared for the 2005 Kings Cross Arts Festival, and which celebrates the colour and eclecticism of the Kings Cross and Darlinghurst areas in NSW. The book features a selection of 40 works of poetry from local poet, Robert Balas, and artwork by 40 local artists, one to illustrate each poem.
2005: Cybelle sponsored Bankstown Council’s multicultural disabled group by means of assistance with the facilitation of art therapy.
2007: Cybelle sponsored Holdsworth Street Community Centre’s Art Exhibition for Disability Awareness Week, held at the ken Done Gallery, The Rocks, NSW.
